I still have nightmares about almost dying when the van hit me. Big reason why I have PTSD now. Worst effing feeling I've ever had. My t-shirt and underwear are soaking wet nearly every morning. It's why I wake up around 3 every morning, despite going to sleep at midnight. Throw in 29 years of being a paramedic/firefighter/lieutenant, serving for 10 days at 9/11 on rescue, 4 years in a Manhattan ER, more death than anyone should see. As a good friend who has since committed suicide, we don't get paid enough to put kids in body bags
