the recipe I grew up with includes a bottle of bourbon. we use rum in our house though.

Fan of the rum but bourbon sounds like a good addition.

It is okay for about once a year. Only if it is homemade. Store bought is gross. Think drinking eggy pancake batter.

My little one can't have milk- but can have milk products that are cooked enough to kill whatever protein it is that she's sensitive/allergic too. (It's not lactose intolerance, it's a milk allergy.) I don't trust the cartons to be cooked enough, so I just make it. It's just me and the kiddos, and I don't have friends to share with, so it's no big deal

A couple months ago Sprouts had them, and green and orange for .99 each (as opposed to almost $4...for even plain...) so we got a bunch and the kids thought it was really cool. The purple gets a little bit darker when you cook it!
