If every plant is toxic to cats, how do any of them survive outside?

I'm researching air "cleaning" plants for my apartment.
I am guessing they have enough to keep them occupied that very few start munching on plants.

Heh. I would say most plants are NOT toxic to cats, despite what the scientific types say. Unless the cat barfing it back up means it's toxic!! (I also have a dog that ate an ENTIRE HUGE BAG of m&,'s and was fine. She's 12 lbs. I was really worried about that one...but nope, she was fine.
