I agree, HIT DB is badly needed, I was at the start of 3 surveys this morning and I realized I already did them. I didn't realize how badly Hit DB was needed to avoid repeats until now.
Just do them. As far as I'm concerned, it's the requester's responsibility to provide a way to determine repeats. If they don't, then i'm all in.

Mturk coders working on the new site be like................
It's times like this I'm sad they made Serenity. With the popularity of Nathan Fillion, the amount of money he has to throw at it, and the ability for non-cable broadcasters to make content, we could easily have a season 2 or more of FireFly.

Here's how I feel about the new Star Wars. Disney got their grubby hands on it and changed it. I do not mind change but it is just really feels like a Disney movie(that style you might know what I mean) and not an original Stars Wars type movie. They added too much of their influence to it and it is sickening to me.

Watch the new movie by itself and I guess it is alright.

Watch 4,5,6, then watch the new movie and think, WTF is this crap?
Don't know too much about the Star Wars Universe, theories, and canon ideas. However, felt that the New Star Wars really missed the opportunity to reinvent the story and take it a different direction. Episodes 1-3 are much better than Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Many people didn't like Rouge One. However, that is the beauty of film, not everyone has to like the film someone else liked. Discussions like these are great, but last post about New Star Wars as not to derail the thread.

they were close last year...but I kind of think part of the charm is just having one pretty perfect season if you watch them in the intended order instead of broadcast order....

i think this is a terrible idea. there are a ton of survey requesters that don't use any method to prevent repeats and just have a disclaimer that if you take the survey twice you'll be rejected. so even if you think you're right and not responsible, you'll be held responsible in the form of rejections that IMO would be warranted.

All I can say about Star Wars is, nothing compares to sitting in the theater in 1977 watching the very first episode on the big screen, that was an awesome experience... Also secondly watching Raiders Of The Lost Ark in the theater in 1981 was kool as well...

After 100k HITs, I don't really care about the reject. The onus should be on the requester, not the worker to screen out retakes.

I agree with this (because as workers we have no power to fight rejections). Though it's an odd thing that requesters can be allowed to reject us for doing a survey twice since Amazon provides us no way to keep track of hits over 45 days old. Therefore, someone not using hitdb can be rejected for doing a study they did over 16 months ago and totally don't remember. Asinine.

I know I am relying on someone else to fix this problem for me in the form of hitdb. Which is a shitty thing for Amazon to force workers to do (if this all makes sense?) If we can be rejected for repeating studies, we should be able to track our studies with a tool Amazon provides.

I think you missed one. :blep:

I like all the movies to an extent tbh. I definitely have my own problems with the new ones but I'll reserve judgement until they finish the trilogy. I enjoyed the expanded universe stories way more.

What are you talking about, requesters can reject because they cancel a HIT after the work is done. They can reject if you don't answer they way they want you to, if you go "too fast", if you "appear" to have been clicking randomly, because they don't like your face, etc... There are too many reasons we can get rejected that are not our fault, and Amazon gives 0, ZERO, fucks about it.
