oh i understand now. yes, that makes sense. but what would organization look like? a workers union with leaders? all the forums would have to get on board but there are so many workers that don't use any forums or tools at all and they are just in the woodwork.

*waits for account to be suspended for daring to mention "union"
Ya, lots of questions here. Insofar as leadership is concerned.

it would be advantageous to have The Most Knowledgeable Turkers (w/ regard to understanding how AMT works) as a guidance committee of sorts.

And, of course, it would be advantageous to have as many Turker forums involved as possible. And such organization might encourage some of the the "woodwork" Turkers to leave the "woodwork."

I think there is a significant agreement with regard to how AMT is not treating us as well as they could, and the problems involved.

Edmund Burke, my favorite politician, said: "Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little."

Amazon doesn't care about their "real" employees.

"Ambulance crews called after workers collapse at work"

As turkers, we're basically shit on Jeff Bezos @Jeff Bezos shoe.
It's...actually sort of amazing how high up the culture of abuse goes at Amazon. Like, the warehouses are basically 1800s mills, the offices are full of anger, and there bezos is doing deadlifts all day or whatever. While I'm not sure how to organize turkers, I'm happy to see amazon warehouse workers in europe starting to organize.

Kind of feels like ideally Amazon would be the one who would protect us from abuse, but I guess doing too much of that would destroy their ability to claim we're not employees.
"Kind of feels like ideally Amazon would be the one who would protect us from abuse..."

Absolutely true.

"...but I guess doing too much of that would destroy their ability to claim we're not employees."

That's an unknown issue, but you make an important distinction. We'd have to learn more about that potential problem.

Thanks for chiming in, Nuramazing @Nuramazing !

BTW while I'm in here being a union thug, both the industrial workers of the world (iww.org) and the freelancers union (freelancersunion.org) take crowdworkers/'independent contractors' such as us and they do actually provide some protections/services (legal advice, advocacy, etc)

Those feelings when you see your Julian score go up!!! Yay!

And then back down. No.

Then up!

Then down.

I'm just going to keep doing them and returning ones that seem totally weird and hope I don't hit 85.
I'm stuck at a solid 93%. I'm okay. Lol
