ok sad to admit this, but i'm awful with phones. I have an android 4.4.2, somewhere online it said to take a screen shot by holding the power and home buttons,

but I dont know what the home button is

I have to hold the power button and volume down button as well. You just have to make sure you hold them at the exact same time or you just turn the volums down.
