Hey, guys (and ladies). The quoted statement below was in a a Hit's survey instruction. Curious if anyone else besides me thinks it contradicts itself.

"Before you accept the HIT, please keep in mind that Amazon tracks the HITs that workers click on, even if they ultimately decline to participate or withdraw after enrolling and don't get compensated. Therefore, do not accept the HIT if the study topic is of a sensitive nature and you wouldn’t want your interest in the study disclosed to MTurk/Amazon.

Your responses will not be accessible by Amazon as the survey is administered at a website external to Amazon MTurk. "

meh.
They used to sort of track how many hits your returned and there was some kind of something or other about that.
But as far as we know, there are no disqualifications for returning hits anymore and that statistic isn't important (or explicitly kept).

As for amazon keeping tabs on what we do......well, it's amazon

It's saying that MTurk will see if you accepted/submitted/returned a survey from this requester with the HIT title, instructions, topic, and whatever else is available there. But the responses you give to Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey or whatever survey software they're using (the external website) aren't accessible by Amazon's staff.
