I hope that's not what they're averaging these days, otherwise I'm going to be very mad at myself for not getting one ten years ago when they were still going for like $3k.

Old synths are the new hotness now. People are starting to stray away from VSTs for all the little flaws and discordant sounds that hardware tends to make.

Though with that kind of money you could build up an insane Eurorack and have more at your disposal.

Yes, I agree. I've always preferred hardware over software, but that's mainly because I just get more enjoyment out of playing with knobs and stuff than clicking around with a mouse. It's an expensive hobby habit, but more rewarding for me, I think.

Oh hell yeah the tactile feel is important. My endgame is to attempt to recreate the Synthi AKS that I saw at a Bowie exhibit like two days ago.
