You can message the requester. It will be up to them as far as what they do, but in similar situations, I've had both pleasant outcomes and less than desirable ones. Worst case scenario, they don't do anything. Best case, they bonus you the credit if they trust you / received the work, etc, and you have completed other work for them previously. Alternatively, they may setup a makeup hit for you. Won't know until you message them though, and I would if I were you

If you actually returned the HIT you would need to contact the requester, include the completion code you got, and see if they would be willing to make a compensation HIT for you (assuming you can't catch the same HIT again).
