You can keep waiting. This is the reason I pay 10 cents upfront as soon as they accept the task and get paired without having to do any task.

2. When you report a hit what happens?

1. Yes, in that school survey's slow down during vacations. But anything can happen at any time. Mturk is mturk (fickle).
2. We don't know. Sometimes a hit gets taken down. Sometimes they do nothing.
Amazon does what is in their best interest, I suppose, so they look out for themselves.

Not sure if the software I use supports it. In the previous setup, if you open a new hit of the same task, you will get paired with yourself. I can revoke that. This is a valid point.

Sorta. I wanna make words that are bits of other words smashed together and I couldn't figure out how to word that other than saying "adding words together"

I tried opening a second HIT to see if I could pair with myself but I got a message saying I could only do 1 HIT at a time and I had to return the second one.

So if I accept a HIT and no one else shows up, how long do I wait before the HIT auto-submits so I get $0.10?

There's a timer, 600 seconds. doesn't feel that long.
