Is it worth picking up a ps4 pro if my TV is a potato? Trying to be as cheap as possible because I doubt I'll touch the console after I'm done with MHW and GoW
What brand/model potato are you running?
Without knowing more, I would lean toward yes (it's worth it.) My answer is based off of the fact that while we don't have a PS4 (we have Ps3, WiiU) and that we actually downgraded in a way as far as TV's go, and it's still fine for us. We used to have a 1080p 37" vizio, and we (upgraded? downgraded?) to a 115" screen and a projector. The Projector supports 1080 signal, but only displays in 480. To be honest, I'm still in love with it nearly a year later. We use the PJ for TV, Movies, and video games, and it's just fine for us. No, it's not as clear of an image as our 37" 1080 tv was, but it works just fine. Some of the games we play, to give you an idea, are Morrowind, Skyrim, Assassins creed series, Gran turismo, Assetto Corsa, GTA V, etc.
My point is that we enjoy our media fine with a 480p display, even though it would be better with a 1080p, 4k, etc. So, assuming your potato at least has an HDMI port, I would go for it.
