I barely qualified, Not much went on in the late 1980's for the Navy, but I was part of the joint exercise called Operation El Dorado Canyon, when we attacked Muammar Gaddafi the first time. Oh and we ran over a Blue Whale and a Kuwaiti oil tanker with our big old carrier, that cause a huge stink in the media.

It was for the people we hit, the USS Coral Sea was originally planned as a Battleship and they changed their mind in the middle of building it and made it a Carrier, but it still had a Battleship hull.
