That's terrible (imo). Not getting informed consent is - well, they'll know that's serious.

For dental anxiety, dentists can prescribe short acting anti-anxiety pills but like, a few pills for a few appointments. Not an entire ongoing prescription for anti-depressant medication, which is what Zoloft is. Seems like someone messed up something.

You think they meant to give him Xanax? Same sound and sometimes people who don't know will mix the two up, which doesn't make me feel any better about the situation...

I took an entire bottle of anti-anxiety meds once and then got attacked by ninjas in front of my house.
Now it's very likely that those were hallucinations but the fact that I don't know for sure is what makes life fun.

xanax is too addictive (and is used inappropriately on the 'street'). Most prescribers try to stay away from that

I managed to break 2 QA Test HITs >_<.
I did 2, doing both question and answer with myself, and then both had "Auto-accept next" checked, so I accidentally took 2 more at the same time, closed one, realized what I had done, re-opened it, saw it wasn't pairing me with myself, returned it, so I wouldn't have split-focus, and then after sending 2 questions to my other partner (he answered the first, then the second, I never got an answer), it let the timer count down for his answer, down to 10 seconds... and then stuck there forever .

I blame me.

Xanax makes much more sense. I believe one or two are prescribed for certain procedures, especially in anxious patients. I normally take one before an MRI or a steroid epidural. I've never been prescribed one before a dental procedure though. Certainly never heard of Zoloft being prescribed in that way.
