He keeps asking for a phone too. You would not believe how many 11 year old have them. Times have definitely changed from when I was a kid. He does read for 45 mins a day though and makes really good grades.

I am not sure whether I should reward or punish my eleven year old son. He is being inducted into the National Honor Society for achieving honor roll so many times however he keeps circumventing my parental controls on his tablet. He is not looking at anything he shouldn't, he is just playing it when he shouldn't.

I spent all morning uninstalling the software that was on his tablet, installing a different one and looking up learning websites to keep that little mind busy this summer. Found this one so we can learn to code together. https://code.org/

Teaching him to code is a good constructive punishment. Its something he can do and tinker with when hes bored instead of playing video games. He will thank you later in life when he has a great job.

hi all,

if you were on here yesterday afternoon i was talking about having a rough dentist (in this case periodonist) appointment

i could’ve sworn the hygenist said he prescribed me Zoloft so i went back in the building and asked. it turned out he prescribed me Azithromycin to help any post infection following the procedure.

i did feel *different* after the appointment though. they numbed my mouth with a ton of shots. i don’t know if numbing of the mouth can lead to the rest of the head, but i did feel woozy. maybe it was half because i was stressed and nervy the whole time combined with mental exhaustion afterwards plus the numbing? not sure. the appointment was a little over 2 hours. they did all 4 quadrants of my mouth

i passed out hardcore after i got home from Walgreens last night

We used to want to be singers or professional athletes, now all of the kids want to be YouTube stars

I never wanted to be an "As see on TV ad person," but as a little kid I totally imitated those ad people... "Call now, we have operators standing by!" I always talked way too fast as a little kid, so I loved mimicking the endings where they crammed all of the last minute details (side effects, billing stuff, etc)

My son 100% of the time watched educational shows from the UK on my phone/tablet. Never needed supervision or restriction. He was just great. My daughter, on the other hand, has to be monitored otherwise she'll find some guy in a spiderman suit doing unspeakable things while singing the "finger family" song or opening eggs She's two, and she can navigate to Youtube via the browser and not even the app. Thankfully, our devices disappeared for the summer.
