You can go to designated retailers and pay cash for amazon credit. It's for people who don't have/want to use credit or debit cards. You tell the cashier you want amazon cash and you can use your phone (need to verify first through Amazon) or use a barcode they give you (print it out or save it to your phone). They have a deal where if you add $30 at 7-11 you got 7.11 in free credit, or $60 and $15 credit at every other participating retailer. No fees for any of this.

Just catching up here, I do feel the academic surveys could easily pay more. Many of them are crap surveys by students using copy-paste forms and the uni pays for it. If no one did their survey for x they’d up the price but there’s always someone who’ll do a 45 minute survey for five cents.
I agree with you the academic surveys could easily pay more. It really doesn't come out of the requester`s pockets, but the governments pockets from the USA grants they get. So usually if someone pays good at first and then later cuts down the hit it might mean they really are running out of their grant money they got for research from the government. Maybe some don't manage their grant money good at first so they run out of cash to as why as they lower what they pay? lol.

Oh, yeah I use to work in a college and there are a lot of politics behind the scenes of them fighting to see who get the grants. Usually they never get enough which causes in fighting amongst faculty as to who gets what.

dogs are jerks. my sisters dog just got scared from some noise, so she scratched my door for me to open it, then jumped on my bed where all my turking and usertesting equipment are and curled up into a ball.

what have i done to be treated so disrespectfully?
You are the kind, understanding owner of a dog who goes to you for comfort when he/she is frightened. Good man. :)

Anyone done that Mturk Booth survey about food? Did it just end abruptly after the first page with no attention checks, just some questions and no indication that you were screened out?

You know, it doesn't take that much for me to be satisfied working. For the five or so seconds a day that there's any batch work on Mturk that I'm qualled for that doesn't pay me like I'm just afraid you'll phone immigration if I get too uppity, I'm quite content.
