We must be on a similar wavelength this week cause I've been thinking of learning to poach eggs. I found this neat article the other day about it. If you haven't seen it yet, it might be helpful https://skillet.lifehacker.com/this-is-the-chillest-easiest-way-to-poach-an-egg-1825889759. I admit, I have not yet tried the method but I plan to.

eta: also, someone mentioned you can make the poached eggs look neater by cracking the egg into a fine mesh sieve to remove more liquid white from the egg before poaching them. " It removes all of the filamentous white and you end up with more presentable poached eggs." - some comment on the article
