I know it's late enough that no one's probably working, but omg this Priya Ganapathy looks lethal. Is this really worth it if you have no prior mechanical knowledge?

It is horrible. It took me multiple attempts to download the extension from dropbox, and multiple attempts to install the extension. This was after I did the FOUR pre-task actions. Finally I got started, and the page is completely non-responsive half of the time when I try to make a selection. I'm giving up.
I was actually psyched about this one, but the whole setup is absurd. They don't know how to properly set up an mturk hit, and they are trying to use legacy software, while foisting the costs of this onto the workers. In the morning when I'm less riled up I'll send them an email suggesting that they approve my qual hit.
This could be a good hit, but in reality it sucks.

well, beats boiling 6 pots on the stove at a time. glad I have 5 burners or I'd be screwed. I'd fix it myself, but it is gas and I don't mess with gas, get a new one because the charge to look at it and fix it is almost as much.

I don't know where you live but here in California, you can call PG&E and they will come out and look at if for free if you "think it's leaking gas". Also you might be able to get an energy saving rebate.

I'm in Iowa, I will look in to that. I don't need a gas leak. My sister in laws brother had a "first family", his wife and children blew up in a gas leak in their home. I am really anxious about gas appliances as a result.

...really? Cause I was gonna come back and say that I was pleasantly surprised with how interesting it's turning out to be. Really sorry about all the problems you had - and um, not to give away too much information or anything, but I suspect the (admittedly dreadful) legacy software is the fault of the requester's client more so than the requester, if you get me. Still makes it suck for you, though - but from the dim depths of memory having done Priya surveys before, she's pretty responsive. A chill email ought to get a decent result.

Really sorry about all the problems you had - and um, not to give away too much information or anything, but I suspect the (admittedly dreadful) legacy software is the fault of the requester's client more so than the requester, if you get me. Still makes it suck for you, though - but from the dim depths of memory having done Priya surveys before, she's pretty responsive. A chill email ought to get a decent result.

Yup, I really enjoyed it and had zero issues when following their instructions

it is, I did not know them real well, but I would not wish it on anyone ever. On a plus side, my water heater is still within warranty due to manufacture date, by just a few months, so I will call rheem in the morning.
