This is the best possible problem. I want a cute duck that follows me everywhere.

We have a pond in our neighbor hood with lots of ducks. A few of them came to my yard one day (and I'm not directly by the pond) and I fed them duck corn and gave them water. They now show up EVERY day like clock work. The will peck at the empty water bowl and make noises at me so that I go get them clean water. I happen to love them so I don't mind but they do tend to travel in a group. The downside is that I have to clean duck poop off my sidewalk.

The fountain wouldn't have been easy to get into (it's a large set of stairs with a deep basin at the bottom), and the little duck was swimming around making it even harder. I considered taking it out, but there are hawks and other animals that would get it if it were on the grass.

Plenty of ducks are around this time of year, and I see other ducks in that fountain. Hopefully it joins some other mommy and her ducklings later in the morning.

having grown up on a farm and raised plenty of ducks inside I once took in two ducks that were missing a mom from a local pond. I had a cat that really wanted those babies. We put them in the extra bathroom and shut the door. Since their were two, they were quite nasty, cause that how they are. Every day I went in there and played with them and cleaned the bathtub with clorox and refilled it. We built them steps out of bricks, make a note here, it works in surveys, and they had a ball climbing in and out of that tub. There's usually a farm store around somewhere where you can get their food because they have to have food for them. the cat got upset but he wasn't allowed to raid the ducks. When they got big enough someone took them and put them on a pond elsewhere.

we had one once that my mom got tired of it crying if it could find her so she put it in the rabbit pen. she was afraid to go out and check because the duck got very quiet and she thought the rabbit killed it. When she did go check the duck was pulling the rabbit's ears and they were then inseparable. That duck used to lay eggs that I sold to my mom's egg man, a real person, not a beatle's song.

I know that feeling too well. My dog ate a battery when he was a pup. Then a few months later somehow got his intestines kinked. So far my dog's worth about 3000-3500. He's been told not to fuck up again or he's a goner. Not sure if it got through to him or not.
