Did anyone ever get paid the $7 for the HIT from cut-e mTurk on or around May 31st?
The title was: Take and rate our new gamified tests!(~ 60 minutes)
The study was stuck, HIT expired and the requester said something along the lines of:
Hey, friend. It's working again so why don't you go ahead and finish it? You might get a Dummy HIT.. we'll see...

They haven't responded to an email since.

I didn't roll the dice and submit it because I did not receive any response from them until after the HIT expired. I wish I would have now because I will never see that $7. For now my plan is to be like Andy from Shawshank Redemption and send them a nice email every day until they respond or I get tired of it.

Cute story about learning the value of your time.

So my coworker called in sick today which has made today CRAZY at work due to the other employee (my mom who runs the business) having a ton of appointments. The phones won't stop, people keep showing up and I was going nuts.

I ran home for lunch and asked my kid if he would please come in for the afternoon and help grab phones and open the door when needed. He's 14 so we can't legally hire him, but I told him his grandma would pay him for his time spent.

They just negotiated his salary. He opened with "$1.00/hr." (I laughed and realized I REALLY need to teach this kid to ask for more money.) He will be helping for four hours so my mom says, "How about a flat $40?"

My kids head nearly spun off his neck as he looked from her to me and back again and then asked, "Did I hear that right, Mom?"

He just informed me that if she is going to pay him $10/hour he will come in ANY TIME we need him during his summer break. (And he's thrilled as he wants to buy the new Jurassic Park video game coming out next week and that's $55 so he just made almost all the money he needs.)
