one of my friend’s moms passed away a few days ago. i saw via facebook. i guess her uncle had tagged her in something about it. i was like “fuuuuck”. i felt terrible. i met her mom a few times. i was going to msg her but didn’t know if it was a good time

she then msgs me instead a few hours later, but about something completely different. she didn’t say anything about her mom. they were sorta close i had thought (have lots of pics together, etc). i guess it’s not my business in bringing her mom up, but i feel a little weird. i don’t think she knows i know

she seems to be coping okay via msgs, but i know real life can be completely different, etc

Thats horrifying...I have went through some pretty horrible deaths..for me it helped when I knew people cared. It was hard for me to talk about..but when they brought it up, I know they cared. care is always ok

Mention it. It's a big deal. When my daughter died I had no issues with people mentioning it. Whether or not I was talking about it at that moment, it was never not on my mind so it's not like you'll bring up something she has forgotten about.
