No, it didn't expire, when I clicked 'submit' to mTurk it didn't go through - I got the screen where you have to sign back into your account. It's happened before - sometimes a message will pop up saying 'something went wrong, try again', this time it didn't - mturk support can't help with this - once before when it happened I was able to find the Hit still active and get the name that way, this time, no luck with that.

If you have Mturksuite installed you can check to see what happened to the hit using hit tracker. Just type in yesterdays date under the history tab and it will show you your daily overview (everything you accepted that day). It seems weird that the hit itself would just disappear.

I let the timer run out on a couple of $1ish HITs but the timers ran out because I was getting new patio furniture from the neighbor soooo...
I'd say that was a good trade off.
