While the above is true, I only said that for the title. I've been building something and it is nearly "enough" there to be soft released. Why do I mention this today? Rando question but, is Microsoft the only place to get a real copy of Windows 10 64bit? Are there even real OEM versions? Any way to save money would be killer.

Could you buy a [legit] key and then download the .iso? I haven't done this myself tbh.

I'm not sure, iirc my Win10 was just upgraded from 7/8.

That's a good idea. I didn't get 7 until after the free upgrade. fml. Now to find a legit key. Thanks. Figure it's about damn time I get out of the stone age. I wonder...maybe I can get free copy through the 'insider program'. I'd just hate to play test an OS, lol.

If you want to be cheap you can just use the media creation tool and download the plain .iso. It will nag at you every other day to activate it and you won't be able to change your background or do other personalization things, but you can use it just the same as an activated copy. It won't turn into ransomware and hold your stuff hostage. (This is 100% free)

Yeah, that's what I usually do. Just find it a bit annoying. But, maybe I'll do that for the 30 days, or whatever, until it gets naggy. Then I'll buy a license. Thanks for the input.
