I have to make something vegetarian (it's what I cook). I thought about veggie matzo ball soup - but we might get an older crowd (which would be great, since they'd come every month) - but there aren't that many Jews in town (a few, but not too many). And VT isn't the land of adventurous eating.....

I'm actually a pretty good cook :). But I think most older folks around here eat meat........

I don't eat soup, so neither for me. BUT even if I was hungry, I wouldn't eat. It would take away from my Bingo time and may make me miss a number called.

I love bingo.

I'm just the oddball here. Lots of people like either or both of those soups.

Since you mentioned soup, I started thinking of other ones I like. It's not hearty like minestrone or black bean soup, but I just love miso soup with a chunk of daikon in it.

the cat i'm taking care of (and i was freaking out on here the other night because i had to give her medicine) is also a tortoises hell!

1. a tortoises hell amused me.
2. Giving cats medicine is hard. When all the cats here got sick we had to wrap them in towels and two man (woman?) it, otherwise someone was getting hurt. (Usually us.) The dog just eats it right up if we wrap it in food but 3/4 of the cats don't fall for it. (Zelda is special.)

i'm going with the wrap-in-a-towel (or "purrito") method, and somehow managing to squirt the dropper in her gullet on my own
i would love to have the kind of relationship with her that this lovely gentle vet has with mr pirate though

It's easy for me... Noahs are all qual'd for states I'm not in and Alexandrias are gone now, aside from a few trickling in.
