I wonder if survey creators have some kind of statistics that cover how their survey takers become more and more exhausted with a task as it goes on. I feel like the quality of my responses breaks down the longer a survey goes, no matter how high paying it is. I lose sight of the spectrum of responses offered and become more likely to choose extremes in the later pages because of fatigue, so I think that if someone were to study my particular behavior, they'd see the quality of the data I'm providing deteriorates over time.

I'm also more likely to perform better on a task if it were broken down into a batch of tasks that end up providing the same pay for the same amount of time. So I provide better, more representative answers on 10 individual tasks that take a total of 5 minutes to complete, as opposed to one 5 minute task with 10 of those same subsections, if that makes sense. I still made the dollar in 5 minutes either way, but one causes me less frustration than the other.

Does repeating the same task in a single survey make people quit out early past a certain amount of repetitions? Does diversifying the content in a survey improve engagement in the task?
