Thank you. I'd like to try pre-making them for us :D
pretty easy actually if you have help, wife and oldest grandkids helped a lot this morning, I did all the cooking and they did all the prep work, only used 2 burners and the oven, just rotated things as they became prepared. Bacon, sausage, green and red peppers, eggs, and potatoes, and of course cheese.

I'm not sure if you were joking or not, but I've seen this brought up seriously elsewhere before where I didn't want to have to debate it, so here's the info. You can't turk under anything but your personal SSN, so your income from that must remain personal self-employment income, making it irrelevant here regardless.

But that aside, it seems most people have no idea of the ongoing costs and time-consuming extra paperwork that would be involved in incorporation... several hundred dollars to file initial incorporation paperwork, several hundred dollars a year annual 'franchise tax' payment ("A franchise tax is a fee paid for the privilege of doing business as a corporation in that particular state."), several hundred dollars a year in filing fees for various required paperwork, a hundred dollars or so annually for buying the most expensive tax software version each year (or several hundred dollars annually to get an accountant to handle business taxes)... and then you still have to do your personal taxes too, plus file employee-type tax paperwork and tax prepayments on yourself for the business throughout the year (there is a 'pass-through' option for the LLC type of incorporation that can reduce the extra tax paperwork, but then you're back to treating it all as personal self-employment income on your taxes, yet still owing those other extra fees). As the 'business' paying all its earnings to its sole employee, there wouldn't be profits to pay corporate income tax on for it, but you'd still owe basically the same total taxes as self-employment, just with the 'business' having to pay its half of the Social Security + Medicare portion to the government before paying 'you', instead of you paying both halves on your personal taxes. And as an added 'bonus', to be able to receive or make payments in the name of your corporation, you'd need to open a separate 'business'-class checking account at your bank after filing the incorporation paperwork, and that type of account usually doesn't have a no-monthly-fees option like personal bank accounts do. It's only the very large companies that can shuffle things around in a "tax laws love corporations" kind of way.

TLDR: you can't incorporate for turking, and wouldn't come out ahead if you could.
clickhappier @clickhappier is going to bury Pleco @Pleco alive in a (well-informed and important) wall of text at the end of the year in the Crowd Pleaser battle royale.

I didn't know about the SSN thing so that makes sense that incorporating wouldn't work for us. My wife is in a private practice and used to be self-employed. When she went to being fully incorporated her taxes dropped significantly (both business and personal) . The fees aren't extravagant in NC so maybe thats why its a bit different. her accountant told me to not worry about incorporating, but if i were to get over $25k then we should revisit looking into it.

My top.
You just have to utilize TM more, find closed quals, find batches that no one is doing, set up HS for batches, HM
Keep your eyes glued to the forums too. I learn from turkers who make less than me and from turkers who make more. Keep an open mind and feel free to ask if theres a particular thing you need. make sure to hoard and panda hits and batches
Oh the questions will come that's for sure. I was alright coasting before, but recent situations have called for an increase in income, and it's not like I don't have the time to devote to it, I just need the 'how' part. My TM is pretty barren I'll give you that, only have some batches set there that are rarely up. HS I 'think' I have set up to sniff out rando batches, but it's pretty hit and miss. A lot I come across tends to be 5000+ which erks me.

Do you have to wait the 5 minutes to do the HMU/Farhans? That really turned me off when i was able to do them again

Seconding this. I don't make as much as some, but I've noticed a significant increase at least for me after 5k approved.

I doubled my income, when I was under 5000 HITs, by donating to the forum. Then you get 'live update' which turns all of us into HS's working for you. The HITs posted here are about as pre-qualified as they come, for good HITs. I'd take a rating here, over TO, 99 times out of 100 but, there's almost no way you will catch the high paying surveys or get in on the start of batches, having to refresh the forum every minute or 2. Donate change to make dollars. My 2 pennies.

you may already do this, but a good use for TM while you are building up a set of batches you like, is to make a panda for every decent paying survey you see but miss. You may catch it when someone returns it or it expires from their queue. If its sufficiently big dollar then let it run for a while. If its small delete it after a few hours

Plus the admins are great and need all that wine, candy, and vacations to tropical islands the donations pay for.
