My fiance just had part 1 of a two part unexpected surgery to remove a cyst on his spine in the same week that we signed out lease and now we don't know how we're going to pay out pet deposit. Have you explained the situation to your new landlord? If its just a deposit a reasonable person would take it the next month.

I've tried. We did it through a real estate agency and we learned about my fiances surgery only a day before signing the lease. He said he would do us a favor and give us 30 days but after that no deal. We've been house hunting for 3 months to no avail. Just when we thought our luck changed this happened. ):

Call any of the no kill shelters in the area to see if they have a foster available until you can afford the deposit. In my area we have a pet page on facebook and many people are willing to foster animals for people in your type of position... Someone can just help out until you get the deposit together.
