It's a (beep) TV show! I could see a countdown on the local TV news if it was Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul (both filmed here, both featuring famous local landmarks, both with actors you can see around town when you eat or do something entertaining) but GOT has no local relevance except for George RR Martin lives and owns a theater in Santa Fe, an hour north up the interstate.

BTW, can you believe HBO wouldn't grant Martin rights to show the series finale for free in his theater for a watch party?!!!!!!!???????

I haven't seen GOT either, but if I can find the complete series on blu-ray for $60 or less when the full series blu-ray releases, I might buy it and watch it. I doubt it's going to show up in syndication because it sounds too raunchy for broadcast syndication tv.

It's an HBO series, so in true HBO fashion the first season or two are basically just soft-core porn (though, the sex stuff was toned down a bit in later seasons.)
