There was no death of family or friend, and no one contracted cancer or the like, but the worst four weeks of my life began thirty days ago with the computer error code, "CPU fan has failed." (That put me out of work till just now.)

On the same day, my cell phone crapped out on me.

Soon after that I suffered a mini-stroke (a TIA: Transient Ischemic Attack ). That was ... scary. I woke up at five in the morning and had no control over my left arm or hand. I decided the best thing to do was get some more sleep and see if things got better upon waking, so I slept for five more hours. Woke up and my arm and hand were better, but I still called 911, the result of which was a two-and-a-half-day stay at Eisenhower hospital: the food was ... fair. (But I give kudos to their kitchen, who would call me and ask for my food preferences.) But it was nice watcing some TV (which I do not have here at home): six-hundred- pound people?!?!

Then, shortly after arriving home, my left hip went bad: very painful; sometimes excruciating And I have trouble walking.

All in all, a suck-ass month.

:) Good to be back!

So good to hear from you!! Sorry you've had such an awful time. I actually woke up this morning thinking about you and meant to send you a PM, but forgot b/c I'd forget my own head if it wasn't attached!

Glad to see you back!

Current PE $43.46, which didn't feel right for as hard as i've been working. And then i looked at this

and i'm like wow that hourly is crap. But then i figured up how much bonus i was owed from what i've done today and thats up to $42, so with that figured in, i'm right about where i should be.

42$ in bonuses? Well someone is getting it today at least.

Acme transcription HITs make me think at least 20% of mturk workers should be supervised when doing anything more complex than tying their shoes.
I had one that literally just said "scroll down mouse one four", I concur with your feeling.

The poll reminded me of my friend who took his expiring yogurt with him when he bought a house

Has anyone ever gotten caught in one of those survey loops; you know, the ones where you click on a survey that says something like "0.25 for 5 minutes", and just as soon as you think you're finishing up with the survey and you're about to submit it, your browser immediately opens up a new and different survey in the same window, and it just keeps doing that infinitely, and you never actually get so submit anything, and whatever asshole sets this loop up ends up getting data for free because there's a 15 minute time limit on the original survey?

I'm back, y'all! I took about 2 years off to procreate and now I'm back to pay for diapers (and an upgrade to a fullframe DSLR...)! I forget what add ons I was using before, what's everybody using for browser plugins these days? TO? is that still a thing? I think there was another one, too... I'm about to hit 10k as soon as these yes or no's and text cats go through. I've put almost 1k on in the last week, testing the waters to see if I wanted to come back for reals. Turns out, I can do batches while my kids run around and pause to kiss booboos and refill juice cups occasionally. Hopefully 10k gets me some great closed quals..

Welcome back. People are using MTURK Suite now-a-days. That software tracks down hits, catches them, and tracks the work you've done.

Here is the extension for chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/mturk-suite/iglbakfobmoijpbigmlfklckogbefnlf?hl=en-US
