beyond the marisnick incident or just for that incident?

I may go watch the game in the archives if it was insane more than for that moment.
That Marisnick play was so gd filthy.

Signed, a Dodgers fan that was pissed when Utley broke that Mets player's leg in the playoffs.

based on a few views of the play I've seen, it does appear Marisnick went to the inside of the baseline where the catcher was rather than straight on the baseline to the plate.

11-10... so many twists

reminded me of Game 5 of the Astros/Dodgers world series on a much smaller scale (since it is the regular season), but just how it played out. Astros down by several runs, come back to tie, fall behind again, come back to tie and eventually come out on top

since we are in the boring part of the season (sans Tuesday night MLB ASG and Wednesday night Triple-A ASG), I think I"ll pull today's astros game up on the MLB.TV archives and watch it.

I don't think he was blocking the plate. Lecroy looked like he was on the fair side of the baseline rather than in the basepath. I think Marisnick could have backdoored his slide and got his hand on the point of home plate before Lucroy could finish the catch and dive down to try for the tag.

Alternate: the Reds played in sleeveless unis today for some reason.

edit: i mean how can you say no?

some people on social media saying Marisnick should get suspended. i don’t agree with that at all. society is soft

it was an unfortunate incident but to call for a suspension...

if mlb wants to suspend him... then fine. it won’t hurt the Astros at all

Dropping the shoulder is going to get him that suspension. I won't argue intentionality but that's a bad look.

I'm glad it's illegal now. Throwing at guys, railroading players, spiking on slides. The hyper toxic masculinity stuff with hurting each other in baseball has to die.

lucroy flinches towards foul territory. Marisnick reacts jukes steps inside, Lucroy moves back inside and it was too late for Marisnick to move.

It's definitely worth a look-see for the back-and-forth runs. I saw the collision at home plate live and I CANNOT believe MLB let Lukroy get up on his own volition. Marisnick should not be suspended, though. Pain happens at home plate sometimes.

poor Marisnick wasn’t even suppose to play today. outside of what he came in for (pinch running). now he’s all over with everything w this collision. it was a bang bang incident. sucks for Lucroy and hope he’s okay. JM didn’t mean to hurt him

I think it's the BS thing of the "150 anniversary of pro baseball". The Cincinnati Red Stockings was the first professional baseball club and I've heard the Reds are wearing tons of uniform combos and styles this season to honor that anniversary and professional baseball starting in their town.

I think MLB should have waited a few years (2026) and celebrated the 150 years of the founding of the National League, the start of what eventually became today's MLB.

As for other types of uniforms, I miss the White Sox' shorts and I love how the Colorado Rockies wear vest uniforms frequently. The Rockies wear the sleeveless uniforms better than the Reds in the photos you posted.

We'll see! I think it's pretty likely when the player leaves the base path and collides.
