they can pass all the laws they want. ultimately its how they are implemented and enforced that matters. it (the law) may not even consider amazon turk as gig work... or there may be several other work-arounds or carve outs and unintended consequences. I wouldn't venture a guess at the outcome of the impact as it could turn out vastly different than imagined or their might be no impact.I'm going out on a limb and say California overextended themselves in the virtual world as I have to think an internet regulation can't be created by a state such as making turk have minimum wage paying HITs. Then again, there are now online sales tax collections so maybe states have some right to regulate an internet-related thing.
