Good morning! My oldest turns 16 tomorrow and is going for her driver's permit in the morning. I'm excited for her, but also a little scared for my Jeep.

Is she going to pay for car insurance herself ? My sister just added her 16 y/o to her policy and her rates skyrocketed $$500 more per 6 months . Not sure where you are but she's in nyc. Either way congratz to your daughter

Jeeps can be repaired. I'm more scared for the citizens of your city.

I hope she's a better driver than my neighbor's daughter was at around that age with a few minor bumper denters and pulling into the driveway as if it was a NASCAR pit stop with being a little fast driving the residential street and coming to a quick screech halt in the driveway.

If you really like your Jeep, maybe you should get her a Honda Civic or something to ding.

Our insurance company said to add her when she gets her actual license, so that’s at minimum 6 months from now. She would like to get a job, but we are making her wait on that for a bit. She’s in track, which takes up a ton of her free time and I don’t want her grades to suffer.

She has to drive with one of us in the car for at least 6 months so hopefully she learns how to drive responsibly. And if she doesn’t display that then no license. Safety first!
