Years ago, one of the board owners had significant contact with mturk itself (the inside scoop). But that was a long time ago. Frankly, I don't think anyone online has much of a connection with mturk itself anymore - mainly because they aren't taking care of the program or committed to growing it.

Those of us here, well. Some are good turkers - others average. Me, I'm just kind of one of the last mods standing (not literally, there are others around- and the owners pop in, too and keep things running). But I'm the one here many mornings.

All of this is to say, most of us don't have great inside advice anymore. I mean, sometimes a little. And some of the members have found things out, too - from time to time, that really helps. But this kind of tax thing -

we're all just feeling around in Plato's cave - just like you. At least that's how I see it.

I'm pretty sure I'm the one who's been on mturk the longest - started a month or two after it started up in 06. Lotsa of changes, ups and downs.Still possible to hit $100 days, though a lot rarer than it used to be. Amazon has definitely put it on the back burner - I think they thought they could really grow it, but alas, no. I think they keep it alive so they can funnel their jobs to it when they need something.
Me? Disabled firefighter, this is literally beer money for me, run a content strategy agency, waiting on disability so I can retire
