i hate it when docs do tests and don't really explain why. do they not want you to know the underlying reason why they are doing such test at such time?

Sounds like you need a new doc. I don't think I've had a doc not be forthright when I ask questions like what is the purpose of doing a test on me.

If your doc is being shady, it might be that they don't want to freak you out with their thought that leads to tests being done to confirm or deny that idea, or the tests are done to cover them from legal issues if they don't thoroughly check you out when you have a health problem.

well ... not having that problem. i know the tests are done for legal reasons. worked in health for most of my life. no doc here at the moment. the problem is waiting for the bed at univerity cancer center in cleveland and it appears to be a long wait. have NP. doc shortage in rural ohio. but 3 neurologists have reviewed this case and said send when bed available. so waiting game. but while waiting it seems the NP keeps coming up with more tests to run. the tests are somewhat explained. but okay, why didn't you do them all the first day here, not when you got time on your hands and have to explain why patient still here since you told patient they ain't getting off their you know what. dangerous. the present day team leader from something called desert storm, etc, puts a little bug in your ear. the only thing veterans are getting covered is ... Cancer. oh, so it's let's see what cancers we can rule out. i don't blame them. these are not cancers anyone would want if one had to get cancer. but i'm the kind of person one better be up front and honest with because i will ask questions and I will find answers.

I asked a simple and clear question, what are the criteria and how can you become a mturk master?
Unfortunately, no one wants to answer, and I think it is a great injustice that those who configured mturk do with this discriminatory system!

Mturk had a qual study where you could do it and if you passed, you got. It was not announced as a masters qual. Someone on reddit posted it in Dec 2013 or 14, a bunch of us took it, and we all got masters in a couple weeks. Masters never turned into a gravy train (nor did mturk itself) for Amazon, so they've ignored both for years. As big as Amazon is, it takes a lot to move the needle, so the only reason they keep mturk on life support is they can use it for their own projects and it makes a bit of money. Not enough to warrant investing in it. They haven't put up the qual, nor handed out the masters qual in years - probably at least 5, maybe 8?

So there's no way you can apply for it, or ask for the criteria that need to be met. Yeah it sucks if you're newer on here, or missed the qual test if you've been around for awhile, but it is what it is.

Not sure. internet isn't helping much as far as searches. but his present day unit leader will be in this morning and she may suggest I advocate for him with the VA. she's a tough lady. i call her "sergeant" and don't argue with her. anyway, yeah, they did CT to rule out brain tumor which i guess can be a gulf war problem even after all this time. but that came back okay. when i went in to see him this morning he actually had good news. i never thought i would call viral meningitis good news. but they think that's the heart of the problem at the moment and are throwing everything at it. there is a tumor on the sciatic nerve that needs attention, but this may have bought him a bit of time before having to go to Cleveland. i won't let him wait too long though.

it's been a week. and several pretty much sleepless nights.

Got back from my 3-day 2-night free Staycation (won in a contest promoted by a local casino amid a heavy-duty upgrade) this afternoon. I can say that the wireless was outstanding, every room has a router/extender and the download was 280 on average (Spectrum) all three days; a nice working desk, an O.K. chair, and good lighting (EXCEPT in the bathroom), a fridge and a HUMONGOUS TV. Dining choices were limited and expensive; I spent my $50 resort credit for 3 mid-price meals and I had to kick in $4 and a coupon. The fare itself was so-so. Heavenly bed and linens, mountain view, nice and new, spick and span throughout. The coffee provided in the room was meh but the shower had a rain showerhead and glass enclosure. Oh, and there was a gift basket, nicely done, with a bottle of vino and 2 wine glasses.

There's nothing to do there but gamble/drink so I got a lot of work done believe it or not.
