the poof scares the daylights out of me. I figured out a way around it, tho. peel the wrapper off (it doesn't poof when you do that anymore) and then hit near one end (on the cardboard, not the metal) against the edge of the counter. It poofs when you're banging it on the counter so you don't even notice!
