age is what's the problem with that survey. Someone in the 20's is going to be a lot less likely to have as many experiences as someone in the 50's. And what does buying a truck have to do with anything. Most of the trucks for sale now can't be bought by someone in the middle class.

A truck often denotes the kind of job someone has. That's why they specified "pickup", rather than "SUV".
