First, I spit out my coffee.
Then I realized also that it was apparently worthwhile for that person to scan a 0.29 receipt.

As a frugal guy, I admired that.

But upon further reflection, I probably can't learn anything from that customer.
Had he or she used a free Target-branded debit card ('REDcard') with a 5% discount, it would only have been a 0.28 banana.

The receipt I was comparing was ALSO as single banana from Target - different store! Must do some kind of work with Target.....and fancy the straight off the boat bananas that you can only find at Target.

I actually did do this once. I had a really cool boss, a bunch of crazy stuff was happening at work and in my personal life, and I basically called in and said that I wasn't coming in because I felt happy and sane that day and didn't want to undo it. Luckily, he laughed, agreed, and let me use a paid vacation day....so I drove up to the lake and went swimming. It was groovy.
