Sounds like you are on windows 10. The windows (button) + g opens up the gamebar so you can record stuff etc. If you are just pressing G, maybe the windows button is stuck down or somthing.

Not to hijack, but what does Windows + either 2 or 3 do? I have problems with some surveys closing the page if I enter either of those numbers sometimes.
