Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I'd caution that last bit. There is no way in hell I'd be functioning without meds. I barely do as it is. I needed them, and other people DO legitimately need them. It's just worrying badly about things like pharma in general causes more fear and suspicion than it does healthy management of your own care. Worries me quite a bit to throw an accusation like that. Some of the personality disorders are weirdly defined and not really scientific at all. Trying to come up with a way to classify oddities is basically half of what it is. But yeah, accusing "big pharma" is different than taking healthy skepticism about whether you really NEED a medicine or not.
I Was put on medication purely by recommendation of health professionals that had nothing but negative impacts on me from the ages of 5-17, of course not every incident is like that. But I have seen many children who were put on medications that are not only super expensive but unnecessary. Of course some people need medication, but I would wager the ratio of those who need it and dont is out of whack, also what about all the cures and more effective treatments that dont get through FDA because it makes them more money to treat something than cure it? Health is a business in this country, and thats not something any one of us should stand for.

My daughter is a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She says the meds do wonders for many people. She is also very cautious and does a full evaluation first.

Cures? I'm sorry, I don't know what the hell you're talking about. Rich people get mental illness too, and if they don't get to pay for a cure when they have lump sums of cash, there's no cure.
