well I don't get it for sure, why the fuck would you grab someone's hit that you know will defo reject you?

Sometimes I accept new HITs that pop up on scraper because I've got another window in front and I can see the $ amount but not the title. If I realize I don't qual or it's for someone specific I return it immediately.

I'd just like to mention that whoever it is that was working at MTurk and decided it was time to push out the new captcha system is a god. Those HITs that get grabbed up aren't so bad when you get captcha'd in the middle anymore, thank you sir or mam.

I think people grab without reading it, and then return it when they see it's not their worker ID.

Although I had a HIT like that set up for me once by a requester and she said like 4 people accepted and submitted it before I was able to grab it.
