After being called 4x a day for several weeks, eventually I did.

I got one of these spam calls yesterday. The number had a local area code so I answered the call, and after hearing a recorded message about all the free stuff I had won, was transferred to a real human with a rather thick accent. The human hung up on me after I asked him a few questions. I called the local number back and reached a private residence. The woman I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about or how her number showed up on my caller ID. How is that possible?

It's pretty easy to spoof numbers and make it look like you're calling from whatever number you want.
