Have you made sure that 120Hz (or 240Hz, or Auto Motion Plus for samsungs, or whatever the manufacturer chose to call it) is off? That is what usually causes the soap opera effect and should only be used for sports/news/etc.

I just bought a 50" 4K TV a few weeks ago. Trust me, you'll get used to the incredible picture after about a week. It's awesome. The picture is so clear that it really is like looking through a window.

Last week I took my daughter to see Captain America: Civil War and she turned to me and said, "I wonder how awesome this will look on our TV." lol
