I'm getting ready to apply for the card but want to double check and make sure that I don't have to transfer from Amazon payments, to my bank account, then pay the credit card bill from there.

Yeah, I think that might be the case. There are links on the Amazon Payments page to pay your store card bill, but I think those are there just as a convenience thing. Thought I'd ask as it would be really handy for me, but I guess I'll just go ahead and set up my bank transfer details.
