Okay so they defined transgender woman and transgender man at the beginning of the study.
"A transgender woman is someone who is biologically male but deeply feels they are a woman." And the similar thign for transgender men as well.
And later referencing of a shorter definition "a man who deeply feels they are a woman" and "a woman who deeply feels they are a man" and some much grosser stuff I don't really wanna mention.
But I was pissed as hell.
I don't really get how that is offensive personally because it sounds true-ish? ( I say that at the risk of offending you but I don't mean to). But as you said, there was other things in it as well that I don't know. Probably better not to share somethings because of risk of survey content.
But, they are researchers who are most likely heavily involved in their field of study. I'm sure that they didn't mean to offend anyone or anything. Plus, they are most likely not used to dealing with trans in the survey because it makes up such a small demographic. If they weren't explicity targeting or attacking trans in their research I would just chalk it up to innocent ignorance.
PS just to reiterate, it sounds like a touchy subject to you and I'm not trying to make slights or say anythign offensive. Just genuinely curious
