Okay so they defined transgender woman and transgender man at the beginning of the study.
"A transgender woman is someone who is biologically male but deeply feels they are a woman." And the similar thign for transgender men as well.
And later referencing of a shorter definition "a man who deeply feels they are a woman" and "a woman who deeply feels they are a man" and some much grosser stuff I don't really wanna mention.
But I was pissed as hell.

I don't really get how that is offensive personally because it sounds true-ish? ( I say that at the risk of offending you but I don't mean to). But as you said, there was other things in it as well that I don't know. Probably better not to share somethings because of risk of survey content.

But, they are researchers who are most likely heavily involved in their field of study. I'm sure that they didn't mean to offend anyone or anything. Plus, they are most likely not used to dealing with trans in the survey because it makes up such a small demographic. If they weren't explicity targeting or attacking trans in their research I would just chalk it up to innocent ignorance.

PS just to reiterate, it sounds like a touchy subject to you and I'm not trying to make slights or say anythign offensive. Just genuinely curious

It's the fact that they're referring to trans women as men and trans men as women. It's considered to be pretty offensive.

Their entire survey was about opinions on transgender people, and the language they used was definitely ignorant. It's not okay that they referred to people that way because it was about opinions on people like me with terrible definitions.

Amazon has been sending me my Summary of Payments from May all day. About 10 emails so far. They must have gotten behind?

It's weird because as I've gotten older I get mad less and less - I just tend not to care. This could also reflect the whole failing heart/shortend life sorta thing I got going on, too.

It could also be possible that the survey was intentionally worded that way to stir up emotions. In which case, we'd probably be getting into survey content by continuing this discussion.

Don't quote me on this because I'm mainly here to post stupid shit, but I don't think the hide tags do anything in this forum.

yeah, that's fine
But I emailed the requester, and I'll eventually get a response or not. It feels like it wasn't intentional, but they screwed up.

Their exports are just set to do that automatically. I think the idea is why change it, if they're only here temporarily

The app isn't working for me at all (not even dialing out from the looks of it)
