I spoke with the VP of YL Testing (YooLotto) hits and we spoke on the phone for a good while discussing all of the concerns and problems others and I have with the YL Testing hits. In the next two days they will be making changes and adding more features. This hit is for them to get people to test the app out for all YooLotto users. Keep in mind, YooLotto app is not only used by mturk users. They use mturk to make the YooLotto app more convenient for all users. They will be adding a sweet feature and that will make the videos run a lot smoother. They really want us to use the app not only for a murk hit, bit to get paid from the app. I know most of us here are not really concerned for the youbuxx but with these new updates, I believe that the app has great potential for users that want to make money, with no cap on how much you make on the app itself. I'm rambling just can't wait until they let level 3 testers do all the levels again

Just an aside.... if you are going to use a mobile device to test unknown apps or whatnot... you should do it on one that you don't use for anything else (like banking, email, social media, etc... although really, don't do banking/shopping on your phone especially if you aren't connected to a secured wifi and using a mobile vpn). You can get some really cheap ones that still work and won't put you at any risk.

I don't think the concern with those HITs is about how well the app works. I think many people have reservations about using their app at all, considering the amount of personal data that it collects, as well as the fact that they state in their privacy policy that they're intentionally collecting that data and selling it to 3rd parties.

at least they're paying you something while selling it to 3rd parties. Lots of sites do that now and you don't even see a penny

No worries. You'll get used to lingo after a while, and most of the people here are really willing to help out. Took me about two years before I started even catching on. I didn't know these forums existed, didn't know anything about PANDAS, etc. lol

We reserve the right to restrict the transfer to Providers of any amounts held in a Requester's Prepaid HIT account for such time as we reasonable deem necessary to protect us or others: (a) if we are subject to financial risk, (b) if Provider has violated any term of this Agreement or the Policies, (c) if any dispute exists involving Provider's Payment Account or involving the Services provided by Provider, or (d) in connection with fraudulent, abusive or unlawful activities as determined by us.

I think my favorite part of Mturk is the transparency and the job security.

Both mturk and this forum have a very effective search functionality... it's highly advisable to use them whenever you have a question that might be time sensitive.

I opened my account in 2012..earned $6 and apparently forgot about it until Thursday lol. I'm trying to learn...figured out scripts (mostly lol), pandas (mostly lol), and the rest I'm just reading along and scraping up what info I can to be more efficient. Figure I have a few more capped days regardless!

Most likely. A lot of economists/financial advice gurus will be the first to tell you that the only reason they are able to run successful businesses off of basic financial information is because the shitty economy leads to people making shitty decisions with their money.

YL partnered with 7-11 years back and it was only a lottery app of sorts at that time. I'm not sure they're even with 7-11 anymore and the fact they've completely changed the app around to a knock off of swag bucks while barely mentioning there's a lottery section anymore says something. We aren't doing anything to help improve it. Nothing. At all. The people who do their hits are only adding cash to their pockets while getting slave wages in return.

There's a reason they started forcing people to upload screenshots of the apps they downloaded. Or watch a 5 minute video in exchange for what, two cents? It's impossible to not suspect that a person is being paid to promote them when they come to this or the other forums to say something positive about them. Scummy company.
