Thanks! That is helpful...TurkAlert, that is one I haven't tried, and sounds like it would help out a lot. Also, are 'closed quals' usually something obtained through surveys, or how do those happen?Sorry it posted too fast lol.
I usually use Hit Monitor for anything super specific I wanna see. TurkAlert to text to my phone for post updates. Hit scraper to see hits in whatever $$$ range I want. Turkmaster to panda $1+ hits and then panda anything else I am trying to catch. Try to get closed quals whenever you can even if you won't do the work for them. Try to make the most out of your time; calculate whether a hit is worth it based on its hourly pay. I avoid work that wouldn't pay decent for hour unless I am desperate, but even then, rarely do I do things not worth the pay. Spend money on good equipment; having a good computer, monitor, etc can be the difference between catching good hits and missing them. Pay for good internet, because of the same reason. That would be my advice.

Unless it's changed since I last looked at it, TurkAlert is slow to send you alerts (every few minutes?) so by the time you get the alert, the HIT is often gone. Using something like HIT Monitor or VisualPing will give you alerts instantly. Thanks! That is helpful...TurkAlert, that is one I haven't tried, and sounds like it would help out a lot. Honestly, I just try and panda the fuck out of what I can, and search search search when I'm awake. If I wake up in the middle of the night (which I do...) I grab a couple things. I try and maximize my time- WHILE making sure I take care of myself/ let myself sleep if I need to/ take breaks and stretch/move around to prevent extra pain....due to the chronic health crap, .
Yeah, TA is worthless.Unless it's changed since I last looked at it, TurkAlert is slow to send you alerts (every few minutes?) so by the time you get the alert, the HIT is often gone. Using something like HIT Monitor or VisualPing will give you alerts instantly.
For closed quals, it's usually being in the right place at the right time. Watch for HITs that have "qualification" in the title.

It's def worth looking into since it can alert you via email (or phone if your phone can do it), though like Electrolyte said, it can be laggy at times. I use it to supplement all the other ways I get notifications for work and I do not rely solely on it.Thanks! No... turkalert is not worthless. It is an excellent tool to use when you want to watch for requesters that you haven't seen in a very long time. Getting a notification that they are active again, even when you are asleep or not working, can be invaluable.Yeah, TA is worthless.
