those two things don't really have anything to do with each other. the auto approval time script will add the times to your status detail page for hits as you complete them

once you install it if you go to the hits you did AFTER you installed it, it will show the approval time

correct, it shows the time in orange on your dashboard if you select a date to look at the hit's you did, very helpful
