The United Kingdom has chosen, as a whole, to leave the European Union. So a couple of hundred tugboats are going to tow the UK away from the EU into the middle of the ocean where it can just be by itself . This makes the markets really nervous because what if it hits an iceberg or there's a rogue wave or some crazy shit? So the value of the pound sterling has fallen like a rock.
