I don't think we are talking about surveys, but we need to be careful when we all cook surveys, because then the ones who don't get punished for going "too fast".

Most survey software has stuff that gives them metrics per page... I doubt many survey requesters are using the mturk timer to tell them about participant behavior.

the only time i intentionally do that is when people report that they got rejected for doing it too fast. like that one earlier. otherwise i'm usually working on a billion tabs at once so i unintentionally cook almost all my surveys.

If I remember correctly, to add requester-side timers to pages on Qualtrics, it takes extra steps and isn't part of the default survey design/set up. So they'd have to know how to do that and actually do it.
