roommates are great if its the right situation. In college, I never had a problem with roommates paying bills because we all got financial aid. but after college, it was one nightmare after the other.
unless you know the person, its a bad bet to take, generally

if you're in a larger metro area, or somewhere where they are easily replaceable, there's a little less risk, but vetting roomies still sucks; having lived in a few different roommate situations, and alone, I would never go back to having a roommate at this point

edit: an unknown roommate. I would be alright living with someone I knew

My 8 year old called them "red raccoons", which I can see where he was coming from on that, it does seem like an accurate description. I did try to tell him "no, they're little bears and they look like cats and they have marks like a panda. They're not raccoons with red fur, dude. Why would the zoo have raccoons?" He got bored and wandered off to something else and acted like I was a moron bc clearly these were just a different breed of raccoons.
I thought I had a few more years before I was "just a mom", which means I don't know shiz about shiz, apparently that starts earlier than I thought. :(

I'm at the mom stage where I question my intelligence.

You know because you're kids know it all?

But seriously the older I get the more I realize there's a lot I don't know.

At least I've got street smarts.

They're closer to raccoons genetically than they are to giant pandas, so he's not that far off. They're like cousins. But they do form their own family so there's nothing that close to them.
