Well.. I wasn't rude about it. I just said hey "minimum wage is this much, some people make a living off of this site, I'm guessing you wouldn't work for that amount of money" something along those lines. It was awhile ago. I think some people are just completely out of touch with the worker experience.

True. And then, they pay you 1-3 dollars an hour and expect professional work that is exceptional or they reject it.

It seems that most of the requesters who have this type of opinion falsely believe that MTurk is 95% workers from developing countries for whom $3/hour USD is pretty good money.

It's depressing to see some of these no TO reqs get a perfect 5/5 score. 10 minutes for $1.50 isn't 5/5 material.

Eh, it's not "best thing ever!" material, but I'd give 9 dollars an hour a solid 4/5, especially compared to most of the garbage.

Yeah, I wound up sending a moderately-snarky email explaining that most turkers I know "settle" for $6/hr when starting out, then shoot for maybe double that once they have experience, and that $1/hr would probably be insulting even to the third-world workers that Amazon no longer recruits anyway. They responded saying they're new to the platform and appreciate the advice. Whatevs.

Quals on the HIT were Masters/92% btw, no minimum HITs or country requirement.
